A penguins team on its last strip of the run way acquiring players to help for a push where Florida is a team looking to shed cap. Or the one where the cup contender acquired a top 4 d-man from an obvious seller ? Which one of Muzzin, Brassard, Sheehan, Bjugstad, or McCann did you want ? And what were we giving up ? Did those teams even want what we were selling ?

Keep calm, tank on.

Why are the Sabres tanking again? To get moar prospects, so the fans can wait even longer for the team to be good.

2023, its our year, maybe, if all these draft picks pan out.

Im so excited for Bailey,
i mean baptiste,
i mean pysyk,
i mean McNabb,
I mean Myers,
I mean Girgensons,
I mean Grigorenko,
I mean Zadorov,
I mean Armia,
I mean Kassian,
I mean Foligno,
I mean (insert failed prospect)

to come up and be apart of this core. i am so happy we didnt trade any of those guys for actual NHL talent, prospects are where it is at.

Sobotka, Sabres 2020 2nd rounder, and 2019 6th for Anisimov

Could of traded for Brassard three times, Brayden Schenn is on the market possibly the third time. Doggie Hamilton is available for the 3rd time. If you want to trade a 1st rounder for someone meaningful. Save the damn pick and offer sheet someone. You know ? Someone drafted. Amazing to think how these guys got in the league right ? Through the draft ? Boggles my mind.

95% of the players in the league today were drafted at one point or another. The Sabres are where they are today becuase their amateur scouting staff couldn’t do their job, not because having a lot of draft capital is useless. The teams at the top of the league draft well and are there for a reason. I guess the Jets didn’t need connor, ehlers, Scheifle. Why didn’t the caps trade the rights to Kuznetsov or Carlson ? Why didn’t the bruins draft Pasternak when they could of moved the late first for someone to help them win now. For every draft pick that doesn’t work, there are just as many trades that don’t work out.

Not much. ha.

Anisimov, Kruger, Hayden... maybe Gustafsson, Murphy, Forsling (and other depth D).

Stan loves NMC so there's a lot of them on there that would have been moved otherwise or could be considered: Kunitz, Ward, Keith, Seabrook

Not bad.

If Sobotka's deal was up at the end of this year... that would be an easy one.

This is completely false, just on premise alone.

There are 93 players taken in the first three rounds every year, there are maybe 5 meaningful trades that are made each year

Substiture Larsson RFA at the end of the year, or Pominville UFA at the end of the year.

I think we have a deal.

The Hawks would like to shed Anisimov's salary.

I like AA, but he doesn't really fit in CHI anymore.

You're forgetting 2 important things when it comes to the draft and what comes after.

A) the player. You can't absolve the player here, if he doesn't turn out.

B) the team's development staff (coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, making correct decisions on his future, etc) are just as important as any amateur scout.

It isn't just the scouting that we need to be brandishing a failure here.
